Project Information
The Bradford White Training Center project is the renovation of an existing single story 13,000 square foot office/warehouse building and 2 acre site with additions to their new technical training center. The project is LEED Gold certified. The existing open warehouse has been renovated into offices, classrooms, and a lab.
Mechanical engineering for the project included a new geothermal HVAC system with variable control refrigerant flow system and fan coils with individual temperature control in all offices. The system included a building energy management system with state of the art Honeywell Tridium control system. The project also included solar hot water design for domestic water. Design also included gas piping, fire protection, and roof storm water systems.
Electrical engineering included site lighting design, interior power distribution design which included power service design to the site along with coordination with the utility. Interior lighting design based on manufacturer’s fixtures included branch circuiting and switching. Provisions for interior telephone and data processing were included along with provisions for interior audio video, CCTV card access systems, on-site photovoltaic system, fire protection (sprinkler) monitoring system, and duct mounted smoke detection monitoring system. An emergency generator was specified for selected uninterrupted power systems.
Civil engineering included parking lot paving and striping layout, grading, stormwater management, and design of a roof water collection tank system to be used for landscape irrigation. The project required submission of stormwater management plans and design calculations for LEED.
